Start with the package you intend to buy: finished premade pouches or a roll of packaging film. A premade pouch packing machine handles bags that already have their shape. A form-fill-seal machine creates the pack from rollstock during production. The two routes need different packaging specifications.

Premade pouch or form-fill-seal?

Form-fill-sealA continuous roll of compatible film.Film forming, registration, dosing, sealing and cutting.

An existing retail pouch design is a useful starting point, but its appearance does not establish machine compatibility. Ask for a trial with the exact pouch. If you plan to buy rollstock, confirm the machine’s film specification before ordering printed film.

Do not assume that a machine described as “horizontal” uses rollstock. The YS-SP200 is a horizontal premade pouch machine; its package starts as an already-made bag.

Describe how the product behaves

A pouch packing machine is only part of the system. The dosing and feeding arrangement must suit the material. List the product, target quantity and the variation you can accept, then provide representative samples.

For granules

Include particle size, flow behavior and whether the pieces are fragile or sticky. Discuss the feeding and dosing arrangement with the actual product. A setup demonstrated with one free-flowing granule should not automatically be selected for another material.

For powders or liquids

Treat these as separate applications. A granule configuration does not establish powder or liquid capability. Describe dust, viscosity or foaming as applicable, then assess a suitable feed and filling system.

Specify every pack size

Create a simple format list: pouch width and length, fill quantity, material construction and closure features. Include one sample of each format and a photo showing how the finished pack should look.

For a small range, trial the smallest and largest packs as well as your main production size. Ask what changes between them, who makes those adjustments and which parts must be kept with the machine. A quoted size range alone does not describe the changeover work.

Plan accepted packs, not empty cycles

Begin with your batch requirement. Packing 1,800 pouches in three net running hours requires an average of ten accepted pouches per minute. This calculation is a planning example, not a machine performance claim.

Separate time spent packing from cleaning, replenishment, format changes and routine checks. Include the people who load bags, supply product and remove finished packs. This helps compare proposals on the same working assumptions.

For a US installation, provide the actual voltage, frequency and phase available at the site before accepting an electrical configuration. Include compressed-air requirements, available space and any site-specific documentation needs in the quotation request.

Where the YS-SP200 fits

The YS-SP200 is a horizontal premade pouch granule packing machine with metered dispensing, pouch sealing and touchscreen/PLC operation. It is a starting point for discussing compatible granules and premade laminated pouches.

Evaluate the actual granule, fill weight, bag dimensions and sealing requirements together. Zippers, spouts, special bag shapes, gas flushing and additional inspection should be itemized in the requested scope; do not assume them from a general machine description.

Make the trial useful for a buying decision

  1. Agree on the target

List the pack formats, product, target quantity and accepted output before the run.

  2. Observe a complete run

Watch bag handling, product feeding, dosing, sealing and discharge with your samples.

  3. Check finished packs

Review fill results, seal quality and appearance using agreed acceptance criteria.

  4. Review the full scope

Ask for a written list of included equipment, options, utilities, change parts and operator tasks.

Keep the same requirements when comparing offers. Otherwise, a lower equipment price may describe a different scope of supply.

Common questions

Can a premade pouch machine make bags from a film roll?

A premade pouch machine uses bags made before packing. To form packages from a roll, assess a form-fill-seal route instead.

Can one pouch machine pack granules, powder and liquid?

Different products need suitable feeding and dosing arrangements. Assess each application separately; do not assume that the same configuration covers all three.

Should I always choose the fastest machine?

Choose around sustained accepted output, format changes and available labor. A high nominal speed may add little value if feeding or downstream handling cannot keep up.

What determines the price of a pouch packing machine?

The bag-handling and dosing arrangement, pack range, required options and integration scope all affect the quotation. Send product and pouch samples with a written requirement so proposals can be compared.
